The SimpleCMS was designed by Layne Shipley. Having done some programming and web design I'm always looking for better easy ways to do things. Wanting to do some quick page development I learned RapidWeaver and how to create and modify templates. Using these templates users could quick modify their sites. I also thought "Wouldn't it be great if someone who doesn't have RapidWeaver could still edit certain pages of their site?" Thus SimpleCMS was born.
